The goals of Woodrow wilson
The United states was the most lenient of the Big Three and they were led by their president Woodrow Wilson. Wilson's goal was to create world peace for the rest of time. He believed this would be accomplished by using his 14 Points, the goals of these 14 Points were to insure world peace forever. However the 14 point were a hard sell even to his own people. Some of the points that were included are the banning of country allies, this way a situation like WWI would never happen again with a small incident turning into a world war killing millions of people. Another point was to give the land held by Germany back to Russia, as well as giving the Alsace-Lorraine back to France. Freedom of trade was also included, so was promoting self determination. Most importantly the idea of making the League of nations was also a point. Woodrow Wilson goals were the smartest and he had the right intentions. If he was a little more successful at the treaty WWII may not have happen."France, by her sufferings and sacrifices during the war, deserves a special tribute." - Woodrow Wilson's opening speech at the Paris Peace treaty |
