summary
India started out as an English colony that would send spices and teas to England. India had a peaceful independence movement and England reacted with violence. Gandhi became popular with his way of peaceful protest agent England. Gandhi also tried to get the Hindus and Muslims of India to work together but they never could and ended up making the countries of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Gandhi was assassinated by a hindu at one of his protests. India went on to have a few controversial leaders and Pakistan had a civil war with East Pakistan which is now Bangladesh. |
