What technological advancements had the most significant impact in World War II? I think the two most technological advices were the first computer and the atomic bomb. The first computer that was made to crake the Germany Enigma code. It was made by a man called Alan Turning. I think this is important because now a days people carry a computer that can fit in our hands every where we go. Most days people only go couple seconds to a minute until people check their "computers", and it all started with Alan. Secondly the Atomic bomb is one because it is the most destructive weapon ever, and i hope nothing ever becomes more powerful that is actually used. Now that we have created an Atom bomb there has not been a world war since. One could argue that its because that now that the Atom bomb is around if we did have a world war the world would end. Nuclear bombs are too powerful to have around, and can not be used in war so no war with them has been used.

In your opinion, what was the most significant turning point for the Allies in WWII? I think that the most improtand turning point for WWII was Stalingrad. Stalingrad was one of the most deadly battles of human history. The Nazis had lied about there peace treaty with Russia and attacked Russia. Which Stalin took personally. Stalingrad was a city in Russia that the Germany need to take to have a place in the east however they failed. With nazi loss at Stalingrad the Soviets were able to push the Germanys all the way back to Germany by them selves, and even take Berlin. The Russians beat germany across the widest battle felid ever. A huge accomplishment for Russia. Russia defeated an army which previously took all of Europe, and defeated one of the greatest forces of evil that man kind has ever come across. "wars are not won by evacuations" -Winston churchill This quote by Winston Churchill is in response to the susses of the Dunkirk. Dunkirk was the largest evacuation ever. it evacuated the Allied troops from the beaches of France to England. This was a nation wide effort and all of Britain was cheering, however this quote by Churchill reminded everyone that lots of war was still to be fought. War are not won by evacuations, wars are won by winning battles. Something that the Allies had not done, they had lost and were running away. Thats how Churchill saw the success of dunkirk it was a success at saving soldier but would not bring the war closer to an end. Best War movie ive ever seen. I know what people are talking about when they talk about Saving Privet Ryan. My favourite quote of the movie is "earn this". It is an awesome quote because the captains death and so many others deaths were all for Ryan, and this quote demands that Ryan earn what so many sacrificed for him. Which is reasonable but stressful. Being Ryan in that situation. Your whole life you would be stressing to make the world a better place to make your existence worth the lives of so many. Which makes it when he is an old man he hopes he's done everything to make the captan proud. My favourite sence is when the translator is in the stair well and does not help his friend because he is too scary and then the Nazi does not harm him. Then later the translator shoots him. |
